About Whetman Pinks
80 years of growing tradition advancing through continued investment, development and innovation.
Change is in the air... Carolyn Bourne joined Whetman Pinks in 1979. It has been her aim for some years to develop a suitable succession plan in order for the business she has helped create continue. As is the case with so many families in horticulture and agriculture industry today, the younger generation have other career interests. So after 36 years at the helm, it has been a true pleasure for her to hand over the watering can to Ed and Fiona Marley in Whetman Pinks' 80th year of trading. Carolyn still retains a great interest in the business but is no longer involved in the day to day running. She remains very much a supporting member of the team. Perhaps she may have some time cultivating Houndspool garden, spending more time with her husband and family and catching up on all those things that there were never time to do before.
Ed, Fiona and Jo Strickland are excited and proud to be taking the Whetman brand forwards. We might not make the next 80 years, but certainly intend to build on the tremendous work Carolyn and the team have achieved to date! With further innovation and investment, together with Carolyn's wisdom and experience, we look forward to continuing to delight you with world class genetics and wonderful young plant quality.
